Uzbekistan Airways welcomes 1st A330

On 21 April 2023, Uzbeskistan Airways welcomed its first Airbus A330. The aircraft, wet-leased from Heston Airlines, is A330-200 LY-TKL (1045) and was welcomed at Tashkent on 21 April 2023. A second A330 from Heston is due to follow shortly.

The aircraft is wearing a basic Uzbekistan-livery and the airline will use the type from Tashkent to Dubai, Istanbul and Jeddah. The first commercial flight was conducted on 23 April 2023 to Istanbul.

Uzbekistan Airways will lease the duo for 2023 and 2024 to cope with the return of demand post-pandemic. It joins a fleet of eleven A320s, three A320neos, five A321neos, two Boeing B757-200s, six B767-300ERs, and seven B787-8s. The company also operates one VIP B767-300ER, one VIP B787-8, and two B767-300ERBCFs.
