Delta increases A220-orders
On 18 January 2023, Delta Air Lines issued a statement in which they announced the airline had decided to excercise options on the Airbus A220 into a firm order. In total, Delta has added firm orders for twelve more A220-300s.
Last year, the airline also converted twelve A220-300 options into firm orders and has now ordered a total of 119 Airbus A220s; 45 A220-100s and 74 A220-300s. The new aircraft are planned for delivery in 2026 and 2027.
Delta Air Lines is Airbus' largest customer for the A220, of which it now has 45 A220-100s and fourteen A220-300s in service. The airline took delivery of its first A220 back in 2018.
