Incident: Jetblue A320 near New York on Nov 27th 2011, unruly passenger

Following some verbal exchange the passenger struck the flight attendant into the face. Another passenger, a policeman, subdued the unruly passenger and restrained him, while the aircraft continued for a safe landing at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport. The passenger was taken into custody by New York police and has to appear in court facing charges of assault and interference with flight crew Incident: China Southern A321 at Xiamen on Nov 27th 2011, bird strike By Simon Hradecky, created Monday, Nov 28th 2011 14:54Z, last updated Monday, Nov 28th 2011 14:54Z A China Southern Airbus A321-200, registration B-6628 performing flight CZ-378 from Manila (Philippines) to Xiamen (China) with 110 passengers, was on approach to Xiamen when an engine (V2527) ingested a bird. The crew continued for a safe landing in Xiamen. The next leg to Beijing however had to be delayed after maintenance found two fan blades seriously damaged as result of the bird strike. The passengers were taken to hotels. The tower controller instructed the aircraft to stop, the crew however continued the takeoff, the aircraft became airborne and continued to Shanghai for a safe landing. While the aircraft was lining up on the departure runway a helicopter on approach to Kansai Airport had been maneouvering near the runway. Japan's Ministry of Transport have opened an investigation. Incident: Spanair A320 near Barcelona on Nov 29th 2011, engine overtemperature By Simon Hradecky, created Tuesday, Nov 29th 2011 16:37Z, last updated Tuesday, Nov 29th 2011 16:37Z A Spanair Airbus A320-200, registration EC-IOH performing flight JK-413 from Barcelona,SP to Madrid,SP (Spain) with 151 passengers, was climbing through 8000 feet out of Barcelona when the crew received a right hand engine (V2527) overtemperature indication and decided to return to Barcelona for a safe landing about 15 minutes after departure. A replacement Airbus A320-200 registration EC-KPX reached Madrid with a delay of 2:15 hours. The airline reported the indication was false as result of a malfunction of the indication system. The crew levelled off at about 5000 feet and returned to Baneasa's runway 07 for a safe landing about 18 minutes after departure. The airline reported the detached engine access panel did not affect the aircraft performance. A replacement Airbus A320-200 registration HA-LPW reached Bergamo Airport with a delay of 5:20 hours. Incident: British Airways A320 at Budapest on Nov 30th 2011, hydraulic failure By Simon Hradecky, created Wednesday, Nov 30th 2011 22:39Z, last updated Wednesday, Nov 30th 2011 22:48Z A British Airways Airbus A320-200, registration G-EUUI performing flight BA-866 from London Heathrow,EN (UK) to Budapest (Hungary) with 80 people on board, was on final approach to Budapest's runway 31L descending through 2500 feet when the crew declared PAN reporting a hydraulic problem and aborted the approach. While in a hold to work the relevant checklists the crew reported the yellow hydraulic system had failed and indicated they would be able to taxi but would need chocks probably having lost the parking brakes. The crew subsequently needed to use the alternate gear extension when the nose gear indicated unsafe. The aircraft finally landed safely on Budapest's runway 31L about 30 minutes after aborting the first approach and vacated the runway onto taxiway C where the aircraft stopped. The passengers disembarked onto the taxiway via mobile stairs. A replacement Airbus A320-200 registration G-EUUU performed the return flight BA-867, which reached London with a delay of 4 hours. Incident: Air Canada A320 near Vancouver on Nov 26th 2011, acrid smell on board By Simon Hradecky, created Wednesday, Nov 30th 2011 23:14Z, last updated Wednesday, Nov 30th 2011 23:14Z An Air Canada Airbus A320-200, registration C-FTJP performing flight AC-162 (scheduled dep Nov 25th) from Vancouver,BC to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 152 people on board, was climbing through 10,000 feet out of Vancouver when the crew reported an acrid smell in the cabin and returned to Vancouver declaring urgency with ATC due to overweight landing and possibly hot brakes. The aircraft landed safely in Vancouver about 15 minutes later. A replacement Airbus A320-200 reached Toronto with a delay of 2.5 hours. The Canadian TSB reported the source of the odour is believed to be the auxiliary power unit's (APU) bleed. Maintenance conducted an engine run with the APU off, the smell dissipated. The aircraft was able to depart about 2 hours later and continued to Shanghai (China) via Frankfurt
