Jet2 firms six A321neo options
Jet2 plc has firmed a further six A321-200N purchase rights thereby increasing its order for the type to 57.
The Jet2 (United Kingdom) (LS, Leeds/Bradford) parent holding said in a stock exchange filing that it had a further 18 purchase rights, which could increase its overall A321neo order to 75 aircraft.
Jet2 is currently in the process of transitioning from its legacy all-Boeing fleet to Airbus aircraft. In August 2021, it ordered thirty-six A321neo with a further 24 purchase rights. Two months later, it ordered fifteen incremental A321neo, but not as exercised options. Deliveries of the A321neo are scheduled to begin in 2023.
The ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows Jet2 currently operates seven B737-300s, seventy-seven B737-800s, eight B757-200s, and three A321-200s. Optimistic about 2022's recovery curve, its capacity for the upcoming summer season is 14% above 2019 levels, with a lot of additional demand coming from package holiday sales.
