Airbus Updates No.4491

Royal Jordanian takes delivery of 1st Airbus A320neo

On 28 May 2025, Royal Jordanian took delivery of its first Airbus A320neo. The aircraft is leased via Avolon and was handed-over after the delivery ceremony at Toulouse-Blagnac. JY-RAD (12304) later departed to its home at Amman.

The Airbus A320neo is the first of eight A320neo-family aircraft the airline is leasing from Avolon. In total, Royal Jordanian is planning to lease up to 20 A320neo/A321neo aircraft to renew and expand its current fleet of seven A320s and two A321s.

Next to its Airbuses, the airline is also operating a single A321-200P2F, seven B787-8s, two Embraer ERJ175s, one ERJ195, four E190-E2s, and two E195-E2s.

Airbus Updates No.4250

Royal Jordanian welcomes 1st Airbus A321P2F

On 21 March 2024, Royal Jordanian welcomed its first Airbus A321P2F (Passenger-to-Freighter) at Amman. The aircraft is registered JY-RAZ (3926) and flew passengers for British Airways before it was converted.

Royal Jordanian is using its new Airbus to expand its cargo operations and has set its eyes on a converted A330 to replace its sole A310-300F, which has been stored at Amman since July 2023.

The airline is busy renewing its fleet and has selected the Airbus A320neo-family and Embraer E2, as well as ordering additional Boeing B787s to do so. In January 2024, the airline took delivery of its first two E195-E2s.

Airbus Updates No.3815

Royal Jordanian selects Airbus A320neo

Last year, Royal Jordanian announced it was in discussions with Airbus, Boeing and Embraer to source new aircraft to renew its fleet. Now, the airline is taking the first step by selecting the Airbus A320neo-family to replace its current A319s, A320s and A321s. In total, Royal Jordanian plans to acquire 20 factory-new Airbuses, which will be delivered from mid-2024.

The airline hasn't communicated the replacement for their Embraer ERJ175/195s yet but as the airline was looking into the Airbus A220 and Embraer E2s for this and only announced the A320neo, it seems probable that the choice has been made for the E2s.

Royal Jordanian is also in discussions with Boeing for a potential order for four additional Boeing B787s and is looking at the B787-9 and -10.

Today, the carrier's fleet consists of one Airbus A310-300F, five A319s, seven A320s, two A321s, two Embraer ERJ175s, two ERJ195s and seven Boeing B787-8s.
