1st Airbus A220 for Bulgaria Air delivered
On 16 June 2023, Airbus delivered the first Airbus A220 to Bulgaria Air. The aircraft in question is A220-300 LZ-ROM (55226) and will soon be ferried from the Airbus-plant at Mirabel in Canada to Sofia in Bulgaria.
Last March, the airline announced it has signed leases for three A220-300s but the exact details remained a bit unclear until now. According to the press-release from Airbus, Bulgaria Air will lease a total of five A220-300s and two A220-100s from Air Lease Corporation.
Bulgaria Air will use the seven aircraft to replace its current fleet of two A319s and five A320s.
