MIAMI — Sky Airline has taken delivery of its first all-new aircraft, an Airbus A320neo (CC-AZV • MSN 8444), on a leasing agreement with ALC.
Sky is the second largest airline in Chile. In December 2001, the airline was established, with its first flights launched in June 2002.
The Chilean carrier has a total of four A320neos ordered, becoming the second airline in the region to operate the new-engined version of the A320 family.

Each plane comes equipped with seats for 186 passengers in an all-Economy Class layout, which implies 21% more capacity compared to the current A320s in its fleet. The airline has installed USB power ports in every seat.
To showcase the arrival of the airline’s newest plane, Sky Airline invited press members and celebrities to hop on the plane and experience two special sightseeing flights in Chile.

The plane flew over the Tobalaba Aerodrome, Costanera Center, San Cristóbal Hill, Lo Barnechea, and the National Stadium.
As part of the renewal of its fleet, the Chilean low-cost carrier expects to close 2018 with another three Airbus A320neos and plans to reach 2021 with a total of 21 aircraft.
Currently, the airline boasts a modest fleet of 16 planes, of which 13 are A319ceos, two A320ceos, and the recently delivered A320neo.
The plane arrived in Santiago on September 23, 2018. Its inaugural revenue flight took off on September 28 to Arica.
The airline is planning to launch the neo on its first international flight on October 4 on the Santiago – Lima route.
Sky Airline claims that the A320neo will allow them to reduce emissions by 60% and carbon dioxide by 30%.
Currently, Sky Airline covers 14 destinations in Chile and offers international services to Brazil, Peru, Uruguay, Argentina, and Bolivia.
