Airbus Updates No.3687

Singapore Airlines signs LoI for A350F

Airbus has announced that it has signed a Letter of Intent with Singapore Airlines for the A350F. Once finalized, the order will be for seven aircraft with options on another five A350Fs. The airline expects to take delivery of its first A350F in 2025. To minimise its capital expenditure, the A350F-order will include a swap of fifteen A320neos and two A350-900s.

Singapore Airlines will be the launch customer for the A350F and will use the aircraft to replace its current fleet of seven B747-400Fs. According to the airline's press-release, the A350F will be able to carry a similar volume of cargo as the B747-400Fs but will burn up to 40% less fuel.

The airline is already the world's largest operator of the Airbus A350 and has a fleet of 56 A350-900s, with nine more -900s on order.

Airbus has now signed three customers for the A350F. Next to Singapore Airlines, lessor Air Lease Corporation signed-up for seven planes, while CMA CGM signed-up for four.
