Airbus Updates No.3429

Five Airbus A320neos sustained minor damage due to thunderstorm and strong winds at Ahemdabad Airport

Three A320neos of IndiGo, with registration VT-ITD, VT- IVO, and VT-IVQ, whereas two A320neos of Go First, previously known as GoAir, were damaged in the incident. The Go First’s A320neos were registered as VT-WGV and VT-WJG.

The airlines have pulled these A320neos out of service for repairs and checks before returning them to service. In a statement, an IndiGo spokesperson said:

“Ahmedabad airport was hit by an unexpected thunderstorm with extremely high winds last evening. This impacted all airlines’ aircraft parked at Ahmedabad airport. Three IndiGo aircraft sustained minor/non-structural damages which will require replacement of certain parts.”
