Lufthansa drops two Airbus A350-900s from its order book
Frankfurt, Germany - Lufthansa removes two A350-900 from its current order book for Airbus's new-generation widebody jet.
Lufthansa had placed an order for 25 A350-900s in 2013 and added another 20 copies last year. But, according to Airbus’s latest backlog published in January 2020, the German flag carrier seems to have reduced the number of A350-900s on order to 43 from 45.
The airline has so far received 15 of the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-powered A350-900 aircraft directly from Airbus.
The European planemaker has recently received new orders for ten A350-900 from Air France and one A350-900 order from the American lessor Air Lease Corporation.
Airbus currently has 935 A350XWB on its backlog, including 759 A350-900 and 176 A350-1000. The manufacturer has recently delivered the 350th A350 aircraft to Air France last week.
