Basel, Switzerland - The first Airbus A320neo of Swiss International Air Lines made its first flight at the manufacturer's Hamburg facilities.
The Lufthansa Group subsidiary airline will take delivery of 16 A320neo jets in total. As the other 15 A320neo expected, the first A320neo of the Swiss carrier with registration HB-JDA still does not have an official cabin configuration.
It will enter into service on March 15 and will make its first scheduled flight from Zurich-Kloten airport to Brussels-Zaventem.
In addition to the A320neos, SWISS expects eight Airbus A321neo ordered by the Lufthansa Group for the airline. The Group has 149 A320neo family jets on order from the European aircraft manufacturer, which will be delivered until 2025.
