Toulouse, France - The first of fourteen Airbus A350-900s expected by the Russian flag carrier Aeroflot made its maiden flight in Toulouse, France.
Aeroflot will initially deploy its first A350-900 on its domestic routes in early March. The aircraft with registration F-WZGT is painted with the airline's new corporate livery.
Airbus will deliver all 14 A350-900s to the Russian operator by 2023, of which eight will join the Aeroflot's fleet this year. They will be configured to accommodate 28 passengers in Business Class, 24 in Premium and 264 in Economy. That's 316 seats in total, 14 more than the airline's current A330-300s.
The aircraft will initially serve on the St Petersburg - Pulkovo route with three daily flights to complete the crew training. The first flight will be conducted on March 6.
From March 29, it will be deployed on the Moscow - New York-JFK route. Beijing will follow from May 1st. Osaka, Miami, Seoul, Havana, London-Heathrow, and Los Angeles will be other destinations for the upcoming summer season.
