ULS Airlines Cargo (GO, Istanbul Atatürk) is contemplating adding A321 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) converted narrowbodies to its fleet of three A310-300(F)s, Commercial Manager Yasin Ata told Air Cargo Update.
Ata did not provide any further details regarding the type's planned addition.
The Turkish cargo specialist was reported to also be interested in A330-300(F)s earlier this year.
ULS Airlines Cargo currently operates all three of its freighters on behalf of Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul New). The A310s are 28.1 years old on average, the ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows.
Managing Director Shukru Can added that the airline was seeking expansion options through partnerships with larger carriers. While predominantly active in Europe and the Middle East, ULS Airlines Cargo will be proactively exploring market opportunities in Africa, he added.
"Our vision is to continue having dynamic and flexible partnerships with the big players and operate where they have problems," he said.
The carrier is also contemplating adding aircraft and registering them in Turkey but then operating them on behalf of other airlines.
"We want to expand our aviation business by opening a maintenance, repair, and overhaul centre," Ata added.
