Alongside the Mirabel factory where the A220-300 are produced, Airbus also opened a final assembly line at its Mobile facilities in Alabama to produce the serie's shorter variant A220-100.
Airbus delivered first A220-100 to the launch operator SWISS International Airlines in June 2016.
The program was initially launched as the CSeries by the Canadian planemaker Bombardier. Last year in July, Airbus took delivery of the majority stake of Bombardier's CSeries program and rebranded it as the A220.
The aircraft has so far received 530 firm orders from over 20 customers worldwide for both variants.
