Athens, Greece - The Greek low-cost operator Aegean Airlines will put its first Airbus A320neo into service in February on routes from Athens to London, Munich, and Cyprus.
Aegean Airlines took delivery of the first of 46 A320neo jets on order on December 19. The remaining planes are expected to join the airline's fleet by 2024.
The Greek operator will begin operations with the A320neo on February 2nd. It will make its first scheduled flight between Athens Venizelos Airport and London-Heathrow, and then the aircraft will be deployed on the Athens - Larnaca (Cyprus) route four times a week.
The aircraft will appear on these routes with the new corporate livery of the airline.
Aegean Airlines configured its A320neo to accommodate 12 passengers in Business class and 154 in the Economy Class, 166 seats in total. The plane is equipped with Pratt & Whitney's PW1100G engines.
The Star Alliance company is planning to put six A320neos more in service by the summer of 2020. Its future destinations will include Frankfurt, Moscow, Marseille, Nice and Brussels among others.
