Safe Air leases Airbus A330

Kenyan carrier Safe Air is expanding its fleet significantly by (wet)-leasing an Airbus A330, as well as adding two Boeing B777-200s.

The Airbus, A330-200 JU-1332 (272) is being leased from Mongolian carrier Eznis Airways and used by the airline for Hajj-flights between Nairobi and Jeddah. It officially launched flights for Safe Air on 19 June 2023.

While the A330 is being wet-leased, the two B777-200s will be operated by Safe Air themselves. The airline signed a Letter of Intent with an unspecified lessor for a lease of 36 months. According to the airline's press-release, both are former Japan Airlines-aircraft and delivery is scheduled to take place in November and December 2023.

Safe Air is currently operating a fleet of two B727-200Fs, one CRJ100, as well as two Fokker 50s. Next to these, the airline's own website states it also operates a VIP-configured B727, as well as A320 and A321-aircraft. Which aircraft these are is unknown to us. If you know more, please let us now!
