Air Algérie orders Airbus A330neo and Airbus A350s
Air Algérie (AH, Algiers) has ordered five A330-900s and two A350-1000s from Airbus, and expects deliveries to commence in the second half of 2025.
The carrier did not disclose the exact cabin configurations to be used but said that the A330-900s would seat between 280 and 320 passengers and the A350s between 350 and 450. The ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows that Air Algérie's current widebody fleet comprises eight A330-200s that are 14.5 years old on average and are deployed on long-haul services to Beijing Capital, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo, and Montréal Trudeau, as well as various medium-haul services in Europe, the Middle East, and occasionally domestically.
The order follows an earlier commitment for eight B737-9s from Boeing. The airline is also looking to dry-lease added narrow- and widebody aircraft with bids having been opened this week.
Air Algérie was separately looking for wet-leased capacity for the Summer 2023 season but on June 1, 2023, declared the tender unsuccessful and ended the process
