Spirit welcomes 1st Airbus A321neo
Spirit Airlines has officially welcomed its first A321neo in the fleet in anticipation on its first commercial flight which is scheduled for 7 June 2023. The aircraft, A321-200NX N702NK (11328) was transferred to the airline already on 19 May 2023, and is now ready for service. It's first flight will take it as NK1 from Fort Lauderdale (FL) to Chicago-International (IL).
According to the airline's press-release, Spirit is expecting to take delivery of seven more A321neos this year, and 24 next year. In addition the airline will also continue to take delivery of new A320neos.
Spirit Airlines is operating an all Airbus-fleet, consisting further of 25 A319s, 64 A320s, 78 A320neos, and 30 A321-200s.
