India's IndiGo Airlines adds first A321neo
IndiGo Airlines (6E, Delhi Int'l) has taken delivery of its first A321-200neo following the arrival of VT-IUA (msn 8557) at Delhi Int'l from Hamburg Finkenwerder on Friday, December 28. According to lessor GOAL, a further two aircraft of the type are to arrive at the beginning of 2019.
IndiGo has 150 A321neo on order from Airbus alongside 221 A320neo.
It currently operates sixty-five A320neo, 128 A320ceo, and twelve ATR72-600s.
Ahead of this event, IndiGo announced it has signed its first codeshare partnership agreement - with Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Atatürk).
A statement issued on December 21, IndiGo will place its '6E' carrier code on Turkish Airlines' flights to 20 points out of Istanbul Atatürk while Turkish Airlines will, in turn, place its 'TK' code on IndiGo-operated flights within India.
