Tianjin Airlines takes delivery of maiden A330-300
Tianjin Airlines (GS, Tianjin) took delivery of its maiden A330-300 on July 16, 2018. The aircraft, B-1045 (msn 1840) was positioned directly from Toulouse Blagnac to Tianjin on the delivery flight.
According to the ch-aviation capacity module, the aircraft will be initially deployed on domestic routes for crew training. Starting on July 23, Tianjin Airlines will deploy its newest Airbus twinjet out of Tianjin to each of Chengdu, Guiyang (via Xi'an Xianyang), Hangzhou, Kunming Changshui, Sanya, Shanghai Pudong, Wuhan, and Xi'an Xianyang.
Afterwards, the carrier plans to deploy the aircraft out of Tianjin, Xi'an, and Chongqing on selected flights to each of London (the carrier serves both London Heathrow and London Gatwick), Auckland Int'l, Sydney Kingsford Smith, and Melbourne Tullamarine.
The unit will join four A330-200s already operated by Tianjin Airlines.
Tianjin Airlines parent Hainan Airlines (HU, Haikou) is also set to receive another A330-300 later this month. The unit, B-1097 (msn 1860) will be the eighteenth aircraft of the type operated by the carrier but the first one to be delivered in 2018.
It is recalled that Airbus reportedly halted deliveries to the debt-ridden HNA Group units earlier this year over alleged non-payments.
