Tigerair Taiwan (IT, Taipei Taoyuan) has selected the A320-200neo for its fleet renewal plan with fifteen of the type to be delivered from 2021 onward.
According to stock exchange disclosures filed by parent China Airlines (CI, Taipei Taoyuan) on Friday, August 16, the low-cost carrier will lease eight A320neo and acquire a further seven from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) directly.
In May, China Airlines chose to replace its B737-800 fleet with up to thirty A321-200neo to deliver from 2021 onward. Of the thirty, fourteen will be leased while a further eleven, with five options, are due from Airbus itself.
The ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows Tigerair Taiwan currently operates eleven A320ceo of which one is owned while the remainder are leased from BOC Aviation (two), Goshawk (one), ICBC Financial Leasing (four), Jackson Square Aviation (one), and Standard Chartered Aviation Finance (two). Network-wise, it serves 27 cities across Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, South Korea, and Macau. Wuxi is its only destination on the Chinese mainland.
As part of its growth drive, the LCC is due to go public during the final quarter of 2020.
