Air Travel (A6, Kunming Changshui) has added a first A320-200neo to its fleet that, at present, consists of three A319-100s, four A320ceo, and two A321ceo.
In a statement, the carrier said B-30A2 (msn 9117) arrived at Kunming Changshui on Saturday, July 27, following a ferry flight routed from Toulouse Blagnac via Nur-Sultan and Tianjin. It was subsequently deployed into service on July 29 on flights connecting Kunming with Nanjing, Yantai Penglai Int'l, Lancang, and Chengdu.
The Airbus narrowbody jet is leased from GECAS and powered by CFM International LEAP-1As. It features 170 seats with eight in premium and 162 in economy.
Tongcheng Tourism Holdings became Air Travel's majority shareholder in July 2017 at which time it was branded as Hongtu Airlines (A6, Kunming Changshui). The airline aims to end 2019 with 12 aircraft, the last two of which are A320neo which will deliver by year-end. It then aims to reach a fleet of 30-50 aircraft by the end of 2022 operating more than 50 domestic and international routes. By 2027, it expects to evolve into a medium-sized airline with a fleet of 100+ aircraft.
At present, the ch-aviation schedules module shows Air Travel serves 26 cities across China, primarily along its northern, eastern, central, and southern regions.
