Scoot Takes Delivery Of First Airbus A320neo
LONDON – Singaporean low-cost carrier Scoot took delivery of its first Airbus A320neo over the weekend.
The aircraft (9V-TNA), is the first of 39 on order and will complement the 27 A320ceo planes that Scoot has in its fleet.
On top of the 39 A320neos on order, Scoot has further options for 11 more aircraft, bringing the total to 50 if all options are exercised.
9V-TNA comes equipped with a single-class configuration and 186 seats.
The plane was ferried from Toulouse to Singapore via a stop at Dubai World Central airport.
The two flying legs were almost identical in length, at around 3,600 nautical miles long. It took the brand-new A320neo more than fourteen hours of flying time to reach Singapore on this long delivery flight.
The aircraft is set to debut on October 29 from Singapore to Bangkok.
As more of the A320neos are delivered, these will continue to operate across the airline’s short- and medium-haul network in Asia.
Currently, the airline operates a fleet of two Airbus A319ceos, 24 A320ceos, 10 Boeing 787-8, and 8 787-9 Dreamliners.
The carrier has also been increasing its network ever so slightly, with long-haul flights to Berlin inaugurated in June this year, as well as regional flights to Nanchang and Pekanbaru.
