Air Berlin secures release of A320 seized in Iceland
Air Berlin (AB, Berlin Tegel) has secured the release of SKY Leasing owned A320-200 D-ABDX (msn 3995) which had been grounded at Reykjavik Keflavik since October 19.
According to Reuters, the German carrier paid off its dues to Icelandic airport operator Isavia on Monday, October 30, thereby securing the aircraft's release. It has since been flown back to Berlin Schönefeld where it will be parked until likely joining either easyJet (U2, London Luton) or a Lufthansa(LH, Frankfurt Int'l) subsidiary as its next operator.
