Airbus Updates No.4296

 Swiftair receives its first A321-200(P2F)

Swiftair (WT, Madrid Barajas) has taken delivery of its first A321-200(P2F) after it was ferried from Singapore Seletar to Madrid Barajas via ChennaiDubai World Central, and Athens, ch-aviation research has revealed.

OE-IHW (msn 3966) was under conversion at the ST Engineering Aerospace facility at Singapore Seletar. It is the first of two converted freighters Swiftair will add to its in-house fleet. The second, OE-IHR (msn 3964), remains under conversion, the ch-aviation fleets module shows.

OE-IHW is set to be reregistered in Spain as EC-OHH. While its Austrian registration no longer appears in that country’s aircraft registry, the Spanish list is yet to be updated. It is a 14.92-year-old aircraft that only had one prior operator before being converted; it flew for Vietnam Airlines between December 2009 and November 2023.

EC-OHH is expected to enter into service in July, while the OE-IHR could do it in August, 2024, Swiftair confirmed to ch-aviation.

Swiftair currently operates a fleet of 45 aircraft composed of two A321-200(P2F)s (one is wet-leased from Titan Airways Malta), five ATR42-300(F)s, one ATR72-200, seven ATR72-200(F)s (one wet-leased from Bridges Air Malta), six ATR72-500(F)s, three ATR72-500(QC)s, one B737-300(F), seven B737-400(SF)s, three B737-800(BCF)s, four B737-800(BDSF)s, two B757-200(PCF)s, one B757-200PF, and three E120s.
