Cathay Pacific Cargo selects Airbus A350F
On 7 December 2023, the Cathay Group announced it has selected the Airbus A350F as its new freighter of choice. The airline has placed a firm order for six A350Fs and secured options on another 20 aircraft. Deliveries are to begin in 2027.
The selection of the A350F comes as a surprise as earlier in May 2023, we reported based on Reuters, that Cathay was close to an order for the B777-8F.
Cathay Cargo will use the initial six A350Fs to replace the six B747-400Fs in the fleet. The airline also operates fourteen B747-8Fs, which are also covered by the 20 options.
